From the Mayor
Hello residents of Shoemakersville!
My name is David Kisha and I would like to introduce myself as your newly elected Mayor for the Borough of Shoemakersville.
I was born and raised in Johnstown, PA. I come from a family of steelworkers and coalminers. I am a survivor of the 3rd great Johnstown Flood of 1977. After graduating from high school in 1986, I joined the Navy and served as a Hospital Corpsman and Physical Therapy Technician. I am a veteran of the Persian Gulf War in which I served at a Navy Fleet Hospital in Bahrain.
While I was serving in the Persian Gulf War, my wife Patty and her family moved us into our first home on Chestnut Street in Shoey in 1991. We have been residents of the borough ever since. During that time, we raised our 2 children and I coached Shoey Greensox Baseball for 6 years. Recently I have been a member of the Neighborhood Watch for the past 4 years. As some of you may know that I have been working as a Physical Therapist serving the Shoemakersville / Hamburg Communities for the past 26 years and I am looking forward to serving our great community as your mayor.
If you have any questions or concerns about our borough, please contact me through the borough office at 610-562-8030 or email dkisha@shoeyboro.org.
